The Florida Panthers' No. 1 goalie is ready for action.
Jacob Markstrom will make his return to the net in Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice confirmed.
The 36-year-old netminder hasn't played since Oct. 17 against Seattle after he was hit in the head by a puck at practice.
Markstrom joined the Panthers for his second stint in Florida on June 30 following a trade from New Jersey. In six games this season, the 36-year-old has a .897 save percentage and 2.21 goals-against average for a 3-1 record.
The Panthers went 3-2 in Markstrom's absence, with Akira Schmid handling most of the goaltending duties.
Florida enters Monday's game fifth in the Atlantic Division with an 8-4-2 record.
